Hair Removal
How does IPL remove hair?
For smooth silky skin Imagine not having to shave,
tweeze, wax or go through electrolysis again. Intense
Pulsed Light (IPL)™ technology offers a gentle,
non-invasive, long-lasting solution to unwanted
hair on the face, back, legs, bikini line or any
other body area. Based on technology used for nearly
a decade in the treatment of port-wine stains and
other birthmarks, IPL photoepilation has been performed
safely for many years, effectively eliminating dozens
of hairs with each pulse. See before and after treatment
photographs for Intense Pulsed Light.
Highly controlled flashes of light are selectively
absorbed by hair-filled follicles lying below the
surface of the skin. The absorbed light heats the
hair, which damages or destroys the regrowth potential
of the follicle all without damaging the surrounding
tissue.
What happens during a treatment?
It begins by trimming away the hair above the skin.
You may be asked to wear dark glasses to protect
your eyes from the bright light. Next, a cold gel
(similar to ultrasound gel) may be spread over the
treatment area. The IPL hand-piece is then applied
to your skin and pulses of light begin disabling
your unwanted hair. When the gel is removed, much
of the hair is wiped off with it. The remaining
hair in the treated area falls out over the next
week or two.
What does the treatment feel like?
Each pulse of light feels like a slight sting or
pinch, similar to the snap of a rubber band. No
local anesthesia is required and most people tolerate
the treatment well.
Can all hair be treated?
IPL's unique design offers you customized treatment
according to your hair color, texture and body location.
Any hair with at least some pigment in it can be
treated effectively.
Is IPL safe for all skin types?
IPL is the first photoepilation procedure proven
to effectively treat unwanted hair on all skin types,
including dark-skinned individuals such as those
of Black, Hispanic and Asian descent.
Are there any possible side effects?
Side effects are rare. You may experience some slight
reddening or local swelling at the treatment site,
but this typically goes away within hours. On rare
occasions, some blistering or bruising may occur,
but typically resolves quickly. Also, the skin can
become darker or lighter following treatment, but
will generally return to normal within a few weeks.
Limiting sun exposure before and after each treatment
will minimize the risk of complications.
What kind of results should I expect?
IPL technology has been proven to create a permanent
reduction in the number of regrowing hairs following
each treatment in most skin types. The number of
treatments required depends on several factors related
to your specific kind of hair and skin. A customized
treatment program will be designed for you along
with an estimate of how many treatments you may
need in order to meet your expectations.
Is it right for you?
More advanced than even lasers, IPL is the first
photoepilation technology proven to treat unwanted
hair safely on any skin type--from very white to
black. In order to ensure the best outcome, you
may be asked about your medical history and skin
type in order to estimate the results you should
expect from your customized treatment program.

acne.
What will my skin look like after a treatment?
Your skin will have a warm, pinkish glow that will
usually fade in about 30 minutes, leaving your skin
looking healthy and renewed.
Will I miss work or have to alter my social schedule?
SilkPeel can easily be performed on your lunch hour
so you can return immediately to your normal activities.
What do I need to do after treatment?
Your physician or aesthetician will recommend moisturizers,
hydrating cleansers, serums and sunscreen you can
use at home to enhance and maintain results.
How long does it take to see results?
While you may see visible results after the first

will be seen after 4 to 6 treatments spaced 7 to
10 days apart, supplemented by a daily post-care
routine.
Will there be any pain or discomfort?
You may feel a mild exfoliation and tightening that
leaves the skin feeling healthy and smooth. The
moisture of the topicals also leaves your skin with
a cool, refreshed feeling.
Laser Skin Rejuvenation
What Is Laser Skin Rejuvenation?
Laser Skin Rejuvenation treatment is a revolutionary
way to combat the signs of aging. This non-invasive
procedure stimulates smoother, healthier looking
skin without the extensive investment of time and
money required by other skin resurfacing treatments.
What Does The Procedure Do?
Laser Skin Rejuvenation treatment uses either lasers
or light sources to rejuvenate your skin from the
inside out. There are no harsh chemicals. No long
recovery times. Just younger looking skin.
How Does The Laser Skin Rejuvenation Procedure
Work?
Laser Skin Rejuvenation employs a revolutionary
approach to skin rejuvenation which combines a cooling
cryogen spray and a laser to give you the optimal
results with the minimal inconvenience. The protective
cooling spray is applied to the skin, allowing Laser
Skin Rejuvenation light to pass harmlessly through
the upper layers of your skin, stimulating the cells
deep below the surface that produce natural collagen.
The collagen and elastin fibers continue to multiply
after your treatment, and you will continue to see
improved results over the months ahead.
How Is The Laser Skin Rejuvenation Procedure Different
Than Other Anti-Aging Treatments?
Laser Skin Rejuvenation treatment is unlike any
other skin resurfacing treatment. Your skin is not
subjected to harsh chemicals or the intense after-care
of other facial rejuvenation procedures. Patented
technology protects the sensitive surface layers
of your skin, allowing the laser light to penetrate
to a deeper level and stimulate new collagen growth.
Is The Procedure Painful?
Laser Skin Rejuvenation treatment can be performed
on any facial area - around the eyes, mouth, cheeks,
chin - with minimal discomfort. A topical anesthetic
cream can be used on extra sensitive areas, but
no injections are needed.
How Long Does A Treatment Take?
Laser Skin Rejuvenation treatment is so quick and
easy, that many patients come in for treatment during
their lunch hour. The procedure takes between 15
and 30 minutes, and there are rarely any side effects.
You can reapply your make-up right away and carry
on with your day. No one will ever know.
Can It Be Combined With Other Procedures?
Absolutely, Laser Skin Rejuvenation is an ideal
complement to Microdermabrasion, BOTOX®, filler
agents, laser skin resurfacing, and Thermage Non-Surgical
Facelift for an overall facial rejuvenation.
How Long Will it Take To Heal?
One of the most outstanding features of Laser Skin
Rejuvenation treatment is that there is virtually
no down-time associated with the procedure. After
a session, the area may appear red for up to an
hour. However, makeup can immediately be applied.
No wound is created, therefore there is no healing
time required!
How Many Treatments Are Needed, And How Long Will
It Last?
Clinical studies suggest that several treatments
are needed to stimulate new collagen growth. We
also recommend regular touch up treatments to sustain
the continued growth of new collagen.
What Are The Side Effects?
Laser Skin Rejuvenation lasers and light sources
are among the safest units on the market.
Laser Pigmentation
What is Laser Pigmentation?
An intense xeon light is applied to the skin through
filters in a series of gentle pulses in this photo
facial procedure. The filtered light of a specific
wavelength penetrates through the skin and is absorbed
by the abnormal pigment or vasculature in the skin.
It produces a bright light, mild discomfort, a little
swelling, contraction of blood vessels, and/or darkening
of pigmented spots that subsequently peels off.
The Xeo IPL is effective in the treatment of sun
related aging, including: dilated blood vessels
and broken capillaries (redness) and pigment abnormalities
(brown discolorations such as lentigos and actinic
freckles). The heat delivered during the Xeo and
the Genesis treatment may result in the reorganization
of the collagen building blocks of the skin resulting
in a reduction of the appearance of pores, fine
lines and texture changes. The skin looks revitalized.
The advantage of the Xeo IPL over other types of
pigment and vascular removal methods is that it
is fast, the recovery time is short, and the risk
of side effects are low. The procedure simultaneously
addresses a variety of concerns including broken
capillaries, rosacea, diffuse redness, age spots,
freckles, diffuse pigment, enlarged pores, fine
lines and mild texture changes.
What can be expected during a treatment?
Prior to treatment the target area must be free
of all make-up and creams and must be shaved. Eye
wear is worn by the patient and doctor to protect
the eyes from the bright light. The area to be treated
is cleansed and the filtered light is applied through
a hand piece. Genesis will gently warm the skin
and feels like you have been sitting in the sun
for an hour. Each pulse of the Xeo feels like the
snap of an elastic band on the skin. A treatment
may anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour depending
on the size of the areas being treated.
Do treatments with the laser hurt?
The light from the laser is emitted in pulses. Each
pulse feels like someone has snapped an elastic
band against the skin. Most patients find this treatment
quite comfortable.
How does the skin look and feel after a treatment
with the laser?
Each pulse of the Xeo laser light turns the targeted
skin gray. Within minutes the targeted skin turns
to a dark, superficial crust. The crust remains
until the top layer of the skin turns over, leaving
a pale, pink and smooth surface. The length of time
it takes for the crust to be sloughed depends on
the type of condition being treated and where on
the body it occurs. The crusting of an age spot
on the face will turn over faster than one on the
back of the hand. On average, the process takes
one to two weeks. The new underlying skin will gradually
change from a pink shade to the color of the surrounding
skin in a couple of weeks. The Genesis laser will
turn the skin pink for up to two hours and then
it will return to it?s baseline color.
How many treatments are required and what will it
cost?
The number of treatment sessions depends on the
size, location, depth and color of the pigmented
lesion. These factors also determine the cost. Superficial
lesions such as age spots usually require fewer
sessions than a deeper lesion such as a congenital
nevi. The latter often requires a layered approach
which will take several sessions. In certain instances
not all of the pigment can be removed. Treatment
sessions are spaced 3 to 6 weeks apart. This allows
the garbage collecting cells of the immune system
to gather up the maximum amount of left over pigment
between each session.
Are the laser treatments safe?
Yes, the laser is safe. Safety goggles must be worn
by bothe the patient and the physician during the
procedure to protect the eyes from the bright light.
A potential complication with this procedure is
hypopigmentation where the treated area ends up
being lighter than the surrounding tissue. The risk
of scarring is very low because the laser light
is absorbed by the target pigment, leaving the surrounding
tissue relatively untouched. Infection is possible,
but unlikely, if the lesion is properly cared for
by the patient after the treatment.
What does treatment cost?
Cost is determined on a per treatment basis and
is dependent on the size and omplexity of the pigmented
lesion. More than one session may be required.
Laser Spider Vein
What Is Laser Vein Treatment?
Laser therapy is a proven treatment for treating
unsightly broken and dilated vessels as well as
other unwanted vascular lesions, such as rosacea,
port wine stains and other vascular birthmarks.
In fact, the latest advances in laser technology
have given us a method for removal that is safer,
faster and more effective than any previous treatment.
How Does Laser Vein Treatment Work?
Lasers work by emitting a specialized light that
is passed through the skin and preferentially absorbed
by its target, be it an unwanted hair, birthmark,
tattoo or in this case, the hemoglobin (the red
portion of blood) in the unwanted vessels. The laser
causes the vein to break up and disappear. There
are several lasers available that work remarkably
well in treating unwanted veins.
What Can I Expect With The Procedure?
Most people describe the treatment feeling like
a rubber band snap. You may be given a topical anesthetic
cream to numb the area to be treated. Any discomfort
can be eased with the application of cool compresses.
After treatment, you can immediately return to normal
activities.
How Soon Will I See Results?
Because laser vein treatment works by causing the
unwanted vein to break up and dissolve, resolution
of the unwanted vein will take place over the course
of several weeks.
What Are The Side Effects?
The most common side effect is bruising, or purpura,
around the treated area. This will resolve within
days of the treatment, and occurs only with some
lasers used. Dr. Goldberg will be happy to discuss
any other risks of laser surgery with you personally.
Will Insurance Cover This Procedure?
Laser vein treatments like other cosmetic procedures
are not usually covered by your insurance company.
If you have any questions, it is best to talk with
your provider.
What Is The Cause Of Spider Veins?
Spider veins can occur on any area of the body,
but are most common on the legs and face. The exact
cause of spider veins is not known, but it has been
shown that there is a genetic component to spider
veins. While spider veins can occur in both men
and women, they are more common in females. It seems
as if the hormones estrogen and progesterone play
a role in the development of spider veins. Changes
in body chemistry such as puberty, birth control
pills, menopause, and hormone therapy can bring
them on. Constrictive clothing, such as tight hosiery
and girdles can also cause spider vein development.
The spider veins that appear on the face can also
be the result of too much sun exposure.
Will The Laser Treat Leg Veins?
Smaller leg veins (up to 3 mm) may respond well
to lasers and laser-like devices. Sclerotherapy
may be more appropriate for treating some leg veins.
What is Non-Surgical Tightening? What do
treatments feel like?
With each Titan pulse you will feel a brief heating
sensation. Some patients are more comfortable taking
a mild pain reliever beforehand. Many patients are
comfortable without any medication. Your physician
will advise you. Schedule your consultation now
to learn more about the Titan™ procedure.
How does the Cutera Titan™ work?
Titan™ utilizes a safe infrared light to heat
the dermis well below the skin?s surface. During
the
procedure, the skin?s top surface (epidermis) is
protected through continuous cooling with the
Titan™ handpiece. The Titan™ difference
Titan™?s light-based platform provides a more
uniform distribution of energy for heating the deep
dermis than other energy sources, such as RF (radio-
frequency).
What happens after the treatment?
Immediately following the treatment, you may notice
some redness and mild swelling in the treated area.
Both should dissipate within a few hours. Consult
with your physician for complete information on
the benefits and risks of treatment.
What areas respond best to the Titan procedure?
Patients have been successfully treated on many
areas of the body. The most common areas treated
are the jawline, under the chin, and the abdomen.
Who can be treated?
Since the Titan™ procedure heats tissue under
the skin?s surface, patients of any skin type or
age can be treated. Your physician can advise you
if the Titan is right for you.
How many treatments will I need?
Although a single treatment has produced very good
results for many patients, it is quite common for
patients to have two or three treatments over a
few months. Your physician will advise you as to
the number and frequency of treatments recommended
for optimal results.
Can the Titan™ Non-Surgical Tummy Tuck Be
Combined With Other Non-invasive Treatments?
Absolutely. Because of the non-invasive nature of
this treatment, it is ideally combined with other
cosmetic treatments such as fillers and BOTOX®
injections as well as other non-invasive laser procedures.
LPG Endermologe / Lipomassage
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is deposits of fat and other material
trapped in pockets of connective tissue beneath
the skin. It causes progressive dimpling, also called
?orange peel? or ?cottage cheese? appearance of
the skin. About 90% of women are affected by it,
after they reach puberty.
Why are women prone to develop cellulite?
Women?s skin is built differently than men?s to
help them to store fat during pregnancy and breast
feeding and also to allow the skin to expand during
these times. When estrogen levels fluctuate in the
body, the skin will retain fluid, connective tissue
in the skin hardens, blood, and lymphatic circulation
is decreased, and fat cell storage is favored, causing
the development of cellulite.
What is Endermologie?
Endermologie is a TGA approved procedure, developed
by LPG, using the Cellu M6 Keymodule machine, to
temporarily, yet effectively reduce the appearance
of cellulite and circumferential body measurements
of treated areas.
How does the machine work?
The Keymodule?s small hand-held, motorised treatment
head with specially designed rollers performs the
Endermologie treatment. By gently lifting and rolling
the skin the Cellu M6 Keymodule stimulates the venous
and lymphatic systems thereby eliminating toxins.
Fiboblasts are stimulated to the increase collagen
and elastin production generating a healthier rejuventated
skin tone. The treatment also smoothes the surface
of the skin by softening the connective tissue,
that anchors the skin, causing the dimples of cellulite.
Who is performing the treatment?
All treatments are performed by a qualified Endermologie
Therapist. All Endermologie Therapists are trained
and certified by LPG Systems.
How long does a session last? Do you just work on
my problem areas?
A session lasts for 35 minutes. The main focus of
the treatment is directed to the problem areas,
but the entire body must be treated in order to
stimulate general circulation and elimination of
broken up toxic matters.
How many sessions do I need to start seeing results?
Results vary for every person, however an average
person starts to notice the changes after about
6-8 sessions.
How many treatments should I consider to
begin with?
A series of 15 sessions would be a good start to
achieve results. The first 6 treatments are suggested
within a 2 week time period, than the rest of the
treatments should be received twice a week until
desired look is achieved. After the desired look
is achieved, a once a month maintenance is sufficient
for most individuals.
How long should I continue my treatments?
We suggest that you approach cellulite treatment
as a lifestyle change. Just as we go to have our
hair cut on an ongoing basis, we need our cellulite
treated regularly as well. If we don?t address the
problem in such manner, cellulite will come back.
Does the procedure hurt?
Rest assured that you are in the best possible hands.
With your highly trained therapist, and the machine?s
capability of changing intensity, you won?t need
to be in pain. It is a non-invasive, relaxing treatment
that involves no medical procedures or use of any
chemical substances, creams or gels.
What do I wear during treatments?
We will provide you with a body stocking, Endermowear,
to wear during all of your sessions. The stocking
is worn for modesty and hygiene.
Can everyone receive the treatment?
No. It is not for pregnant women, or people taking
blood thinners, people with circulatory or vascular
disease, active cancer, and also with infectious
progressive diseases, and AIDS. Should you have
any other concerns, we recommend that you consult
your physician.
Does the treatment have any side effects?
The only negative side effect possible is minor
bruising for individuals with very sensitive skin.
However there are numerous positive side effects,
such as relieving muscle soreness, fading of stretch
marks and scar tissue, feeling rejuvenated, and
relaxed.
Is it a weight loss program?
No, in order to lose weight you need to get on an
exercise and diet program. However you can achieve
incredible results by combining this treatment with
weight loss programs. As a result of the treatment,
you?ll notice your clothes fitting better, and also
you?ll lose some inches in circumferential body
measurements.
Do I need to do anything to get good results?
Yes. Drink sufficient amount of water. You will
receive information during your free initial consultation
on the amount of water your body needs.
Are the results permanent?
If the factors causing the initial condition are
not changed, the tissue will return to the state
it was in before ENDERMOLOGIE®. Regular exercise,
a balanced diet and 1-2 ENDERMOLOGIE® maintenance
treatments per month are recommended to help keep
the results achieved.
Is ENDERMOLOGIE® new?
ENDERMOLOGIE® has been a specific procedure
for the treatment of cellulite and body contouring
since 1986. Over 95,000 treatments are now performed
every day in over 95 countries worldwide.
Lipodissove
What is Lipodissove?
Lipodissolve is the latest technique for non-surgical
liposuction. The European therapy has been described
as the ?greatest discovery in cosmetic medicine
since Botox and it is already being used in several
regions of Europe as a replacement to midface surgery
to reduce fat.
Is the procedure permanent like liposuction? Will
the fat stay away or return in other areas?
Each person is born with a certain number of fat
cells (adipocytes). Advanced LipoDissolve™
will dissolve fat permanently in the area of treatment,
leaving only a thin layer of cells. If a person
gains weight, the fat cells located in the non-treated
areas (including the deep visceral fat) will naturally
get larger. However, the area that was treated will
remain unchanged, same as a liposuction result.
Because Advanced LipoDissolve™ is an investment
in an improved body image, it is important to maintain
a healthy lifestyle and diet and exercise to avoid
excess weight gain.
Is LipoDissolve painful? Does it hurt?
There is localized pain and discomfort after treatment.
However, Genesis Medical is the exclusive provider
of a cold laser technology that has shown to significantly
reduce mild to moderate pain when used either before
or after LipoDissolve injections. Our competitors
don?t have this technology.
Without the cold laser, there may be some localized
discomfort upon injection, and a minor burning sensation
immediately following the treatment. Swelling will
occur in the treated area, and soreness and inflammation
may be experienced for several days after treatment.
In some cases, possible localized bruising may occur.
Restylane®-L
What is Restylane®-L?
Restylane®-L is a crystal clear injectable gel
composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance
that already exists in the body. Restylane®-L
is nonanimal based and free from animal protein.
Allergy pretesting is not necessary. Restylane®-L
contains 0.3% lidocaine. The lidocaine in Restylane®-L
has been added to reduce the discomfort associated
with the treatment.
How does Restylane®-L work?
Restylane®-L is injected into the skin with
an ultrafine needle to plump the skin to smooth
away wrinkles and folds such as the lines from your
nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds)
How long does Restylane®-L last?
Restylane®-L effects generally last about six
months and gradually disappears from the body.
Perlane
What is advantage of Perlane?
Collagen injections, once very popular, are now
obsolete in most cosmetic clinic. The availability
of better, safer and longer lasting products have
entirely replaced collagen. Perlane not only is
much safer but also lasts longer than collagen as
a dermal filler.
Can Perlane be used with other products?
Yes, Perlane can be combined with other cosmetic
products such as Botox.
What Areas of the Face Can Be Treated with Perlane?
Perlane injections can be used to improve the contour
of facial skin, decrease unsightly wrinkles, and
reduce fine lines around the nose, folds, scars,
and other facial skin depressions.
